This is an account of the early history of No 80 Squadron drawing particularly on the reminiscences of Captain Reginald Preeston, CdG, together with the History of the War in the Air and other records.

No 80 Squadron was equipped with the Sopwith Camel and employed in both fighter and ground attack roles with IX Brigade and later V Brigade RAF.
